THE KWINTER BROTHERS' OFFER OF SETTLEMENT

Shortly after their acrimonious meeting with Aaron Gelber that took place in Hirsh Kwinter’s apartment and in response to the ongoing threats from Aaron Gelber that he would continue to withhold monies owed to their Father with respect to his co-ownership interest in the Beacon Hill Villa property, the Kwinter Brothers decided that it was both in their and their Father’s best interests to accept the best offer that they could secure with respect to the settlement of their Mother’s estate.  When their lawyer at the time, Peter Reimann, who was also a close friend of the Kwinter Brothers, withdrew from the file saying that he could not participate in any transaction where the Kwinter Brothers would be “signing away their inheritance for a pittance,” Stephen Kwinter sent Aaron Gelber a letter offering four settlement options to resolving the settlement of the Kwinter Brothers’ Mother’s estate.  When Aaron Gelber never replied to the offer, the Kwinter Brothers, in response to the continuing economic pressures that were being applied against their Father, capitulated, and on May 3, 1984, accepted a settlement of their Mother’s estate for the so called 'pittance' then being offered by Aaron Gelber.    Stephen Kwinter’s offer of settlement is reproduced below:
